HOW TO HANDLE COMBUSTIBLE AND HAZARDOUS ITEMS
WHEN YOU ARE IN A LAB ALWAYS WEAR CLOSED TOED SHOES, SO IF YOU ARE USING TOXIC MATERIALS YOUR FEET ARE PROTECTED. IF OR WHEN YOU ARE USING TOXIC MATERIALS, MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALWAYS WEARING GLOVES TO PREVENT CHEMICALS FROM BURNING YOUR HANDS AND ALWAYS WEAR GOGGLES TO PROTECT YOUR EYES.
ONE THING TO DO IN ORDER TO KEEP YOU SAFE IN A LAB IS TO NOT EAT, DRINK OR SNIFF ANYTHING. IF YOU DO YOU MAY INHALE SOMETHING THAT COULD SEVERELY INJURE YOU OR MAKE YOU VERY SICK. IF YOU DRINK SOMETHING AND YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS YOU ARE PUTTING YOURSELF IN DANGER. ALSO IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRINK SOMETHING COMBUSTIBLE OR YOU COULD GET EXTREMELY HURT. OTHER THAN GETTING YOURSELF HURT YOU WILL GET YOURSELF IN TROUBLE.
WHEN YOUR IN THE LAB, DON'T HORSE PLAY. HORSE PLAY CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WHEN YOU HORSE PLAY IT ALSO ENDANGERS OTHERS FROM GETTING HURT. YOU COULD ACCIDENTALLY KNOCK SOME HAZARDOUS THINGS DOWN.
If you are working on a science experiment you should always have supervision. Even if it is a simple experiment you should always have a parent or guardian to watch you. The reason you need supervision is so if anything goes wrong you will have someone to help you. You also need supervision when your working with hazardous materials.
